Details of the new F-Gravity from Niviuk that will be released in June 08. It's been a long time coming but I'm sure it will be worth it. This is the glider I have been waiting for and as we are now Niviuk dealers I can't wait. Available in 2 main colours, custom colours are available by special request and there is a great page on the Niviuk web site, Click here, allowing you to really see what the wing would look like etc. Try it and have a look. I'll be ordering mine soon.

Morocco
Well we have just got back from Morocco again and as usual it was great.
Fantastic weather and only 2 days when it wasn't flyable. Everyone had a great time and lots of cobwebs were blown away ready for the new forthcoming season. Our two "from scratch" students, Sam Macallister-smith and Mark Rice-Jones, almost completely finished their CP's but just need a day or so back here to pull it all together in the UK.
Once again we were so blown away with the place and we have been talking about finding premises there to start a winter school. Well, we've found a place and now have an address and phone number in Mirleft and, if things fo right, by October it should be open for business. To begin with it will only be a place to store some gear and offer replacement lines for other visiting pilots etc but our hope is that by next year it will be open most of the time so that our students could go go down any time there is bad weather here in the UK.
Discussions are also under way to start paramotor training there next year.
New Premises
We have been trying, for some time, to find new premises nearer the hills and the M4 and can now announce that we have found them. We are in the final throws of negotiating a lease and it will take a little time to decorate the place and transfer the business from Abergavenny. When it's finished it will have twice as much space as the Abergavenny shop used to and after taking on some extra staff should be open most days through the week.
When we have a completion date we will let you know.

Its been an interesting summer season this year going from July where we had some of the hottest weather ever, to August which gave us some of the wettest. It has been a very good year for some of our ex students who have been clocking up some impresive XC distances in their first full season since completing their CP and pilot courses. Even our T.I Lee Tryhorn has been getting in on the act completing his first ever XC of 6k.
The winters approaching but we still have a full training programme in place for the whole of the winter months (weather permitting) so theres no need to stop ringing in. As you can see by our holiday pages we also have an action packed holiday training programme in place to help you beat those winter blues.
If you have'nt heard by now we are also having a massive sale of our wings to make way for our new training stock for the 07 season. We have many bargains to be had with some of our ex demo and training wings such as the Ozone Mojo for a give away price of £1500 with less than 20 hours on it. If you would like further information on what we have available give us a call on 0791 402 6004.

The
school is now back in the UK and ready to start training
again. A few changes have come about such as the departure
of Nigel one of our TIs and the arrival of our new apprentice,
Alex. We are currently sorting out the post-Morocco "organised"
chaos and will soon be ready to rock and roll into the
new flying season! Check out the photos from Morocco
on the Pictures page.
Also,
a new W.A.S website and online shop are being developed
as we speak and we hope to have them up and running soon
so you can browse and order our products on the net.
26.03.2006
Well
that's it now, the last of our students on the current course
are out in Morocco, enjoying the sun, sand, and flying experience.
Congratulations to those who have completed either EP, CP
or both so far. If you missed this years opportunity watch
out for details of the next one or any of our other fantastic
holidays abroad.

Congratulation
to Glyn Storey in completing is CP by braving the elements
of a snow covered Blorange!!
27.02.2006
This
months news
letter should be winging its way to you now. If
you don't receive one in the next few days, take a look as
we have now also put it on-line.
20.02.2006
With
the Morocco trip looming, Edi and Lee will be off to warner
clims. The first week in March sees club pilots taking advantage
of the trip to brush off the winter cobwebs, and give their
wings an airing. The four weeks that follow sees a whole new
group of students embarking on their first paragliding adventure
holiday. Its just a shame someone has to stay behind, sorry
Chell!
Pete
will be in charge of the school in Edi's absence. So if
weather permits, it should see him out once again on the
welsh hills. So don't forget, if you are interested in
joining
him just
give him a ring on the Duty Instructors phone (0791 4026004).
Michelle will also be available to contact in the evenings
(01443 839741) as Edi will only be taking text messages
whilst he is away.
18.02.2006
Well
it looks like a decision has finally been made regarding the
shop. Welshairsports has decided to stay in Abergavenny. Refurbishment
has started, which means with the office moving on site aswell,
the shop should be open for more hours than previously. We
hope to have an increased variety of goods on display including
a dedicated paramotoring area. The shop will remain open whist
these changes are taking place so feel free to pay us a visit.

The
Adventure Travel Show in Olympia, London saw a record crowd
through
its doors this year. With three floors of exhibitions and
seminars it really was a case of something for everyone.
With our new
DVD of the Castelluccio holiday playing we were getting
lots of enquires about our holidays for this year. There
were also
discussions with others which could see Skyhigh Global
offering even more destinations in the near future.
25.12.2005
It
was good to have everyone back home safely after our first
epic flying trip to Nepal, the weather, the scenery, the flying
sites, the compamy, the local hospitality, the food well everything
really was excellent. We all had a breathtaking experience
undertaking the SIV and Acro course and watching as everyone
threw their reserves and splashed to the warm waters of Lake
Phewa. We have every intention of offering this holiday again
next December so watch out for forthcoming details.

The Sport, Leisure and Aviation Show
This
years BHPA show was held in the new venue - NEC Birmingham.
It was a great success for us and we would like to thank
all those who visited our stand. It was also nice to
see some or our friends and previous students coming over
for
a chat, it was good to reminisce about old times. As part
of the BHPA AGM Edi has now become a BHPA executive
member.
1.11.2005 News letter has reached the doorstep.
We
have been thrilled by the responce to our first news letter
over the last few weeks. It has been great to
get your feed back and opinion of it. Due to the
success of the news letter we have already filled half
the places
for Morocco already, and we will be taking deposites
shortly so you need to be quick if you want to get
yourself on this excellent training course. We are always
interested
in your views and opinions and if there is anything
you think is of interest to the Paragliding world e-mail
it in to us and we will put it in the next issue.
31.11.2005
Another great flying adventure.
We
have just returned from another superb trip to
Algodonales where we enjoyed some epic flying.
With Phil Cunningham in
fine form keeping eveyone in stiches, and Kate Murrison
showing the boys how its done, (leading the
way on a 7 metre water
jump when the group went Aqua Caving) we all had a
great week. Although we did'nt manage to fly
everyday the group
recorded some very good flying, with Pete Baldwin showing
his Thermalling skills to climbe above take off and
Lee Tryhorn the apprentice reaching the top of
the stack and gaining
his Bronze Eagle award. The
whole group returned full of Thermalling expereince
and alot of great memories.
23.10.2005
Congratulations all round.
I'm
very pleased to pass on my congratulations
to Phil Cunningham and David Molesworth who have both just
completed there
CP rating with us. Phill has shown outstanding
commitment and enthusiasm throughout his training with
us and has
had us all in stitches with his great sense
of humour. I'm very much looking forward to spending a
week with
him on our flying holiday to Algodonales in
November. Dave Molesworth has also been another fantastic
student to
have around and helped to make our recent visit
to Castelluccio a very memorable one. It was great to see
Daves confidence
grow throughout the trip to the point at which
by the end of it he was thermaling with the best of them.
Watch
this space for more news of our up and coming CP
students who we hope to see passing in the very
near future. May I
also pass on my personal thanks to all those on
the Castelluccio trip who made it such a great
flying experience.
21.10.2005 We've been and we're back
We have just got back from the first of our holidays in
Castelluccio, Italy and it was a renowned success. 7
days flying and everyone had a great time. Lots of good
food topped off the holiday. The full story can be read
if you click here.
Lee
Tryhorn, our apprentice, succesfully got his CP rating
while on the Castelluccio holiday. He's now working towards
his pilot rating so that he can become a Trainee Instructor
(T.I.) early in 2006.
Prices
for courses and holidays will be going up on December
1st for 2006 so book now to get things at 2005 prices.
22.08.2005
The holidays are coming.
Edi
has just got back from successful trips to Austria and
Morocco. The good news is that holidays are being planned
for both destinations and more details are to follow.
Within the next few days the "Holidays" section
of the web site will be completed and on line giving all
the dates and details of forthcoming trips.
10.06.2005
Congratulations & New Harnesses
Congratulations to David Organ on finally passing his CP.
Actually, to be honest, he passed last month but after
not flying for a few weeks wanted to come back for a
day to polish up his skills again ready for the season.
Although he was a bit rusty it didn't take him long to
get back into the swing of things.
Other
news is that we have been testing out a new harness for
the school and all the instructors have been very impressed
by it. The new Sup'air "air bag"Alti plume, although
more expensive than our normal school harnesses, is going
to replace
all the
existing
harnesses over the next few months giving our students
even more protection should things go wrong.
Air
bag harnesses have been around, in one form or another,
for
a while but we have never been that impressed by them
before. The idea being that air is trapped inside a
cushion under the seat and constantly pressurised as
you fly
then when you need it air slowly escapes through the
fabric absorbing the energy, and it works.
In
this newer range Sup'air have produced a really light
and practical harness. In fact we were so impressed that
we are going to stock the whole range of air bag harnesses
in the shop.

More Changes
More changes to the web site with the start of
the equipment section. This is only going to get bigger
week by week giving, not only a full rundown of all the
equipment that we deal in and have in stock, but also a
reference point for other equipment available on the market.
Keep your eye on this section to see the differences.
Signing
of the lease for the new shop in Caerphilly should be
any day now giving a much bigger classroom and dales
area in the next few weeks. A big opening night is planned
with invitations sent out to all our students, past and
present and anyone is welcome to talk more about paragliding
and paramotoring in the welsh valleys.
Interviews
have already taken place for the industry's first "Paragliding
Apprentice". The lucky candidate should be notified any
day now and already employed in time for the new shop
opening meaning that our shop will be manned 9-12 every
morning, 7 days a week, in the season to answer the phone
and help with advice and purchases.
18.05.2005
- All Change - Well just when you thought
nothing was happening here it's all change. Edi has
finally signed contracts with David Sagan and finalised
the purchase of Welsh Airsports. So, What does that
mean to you? Well, as Edi was the main instructor in
2004 most people probably wont even notice, but in
the main Edi will still uphold all existing courses
and Day Tasters
already
purchased
but as you
may have noticed some of the telephone numbers on the
web site have changed.
Other changes will be that hopefully Welsh Airsports
shop will be moving to Caerphilly. With twice as much
space as in Abergavenny there will be a classroom and
bigger shop with a dedicated Paramotor section with
all kinds of accesories and spare parts as well as
2 new Paramotor makes. We are proud to anounce that
we will be the new dealers for Clemente and Parajet
Paramotors in 2005 which we shortly have in stock for
you to look at.
As ever we will still supply just about any paragliding
equipment that you might want but we will be dealers
for Airwave and Gin as before, but adding Ozone and
Sol to our range. Keep
your eye on this site for further news of the opening
of the "One Stop Fly
Shop" and all the other changes that will occur.
March 2005
Another
great trip to Algodonales. Most of the party were first
timers to Spain but started to pick up the language straight
away. Nice to see that our students were almost as good
and definatley more confident in the air than some of the
qualified pilots in the other group. Great food and great
company from the other group made a thouroughly enjoyable
holiday. Amazing views, good photo's even better memories.
01.04.2005
- 2005 - Here
we go again, after a fustrating winter where the
weather
has not been great to say the least, although
a couple of winter trips to the south of Spain
has kept some of the
student current and even seen a couple qualify.
We are reving up for this summer, let hope it is
another good one!!!
