Mirleft and the Eagles Nest

There is one 2 week course full course and 1x1 week CP or CP refresher course in Morocco in March. These courses are specifically designed for people who want to mix an exotic holiday with learning to fly from start to finish or brush up in their skill ready for the forthcoming season.

If you are the type of person for whom time is almost impossible to get off at any other time of year then this flying course is designed esecially for you.

With no previous flying experience needed we will train you all the way to CP level in just 14 days. Starting off on the sand dunes near the beach we will teach you to ground handle your canopy and do some gentle flights off the dunes.

As you progress we find ourselves on bigger dunes and hills near the beach. Going on the the main ridge will be supported with plenty of tandem flights with the student taking the controls to gain confidence with the higher flights. Early morning and late evening top to bottoms will follow with lectures during the heat of the day when flying for inexperienced students could be a little tricky.

Once a bit more experience is gained students will be clocking up the hours with soaring flights and top landings. Once CP is reached the lessons don't need to end. We will be quite happy to carry on your education with learning to use the thermals and working towards tasks for Pilot level.

Full EP+CP course = £ 1,600
This will include all tuition, hire of all technical equipment needed also included is accomodation and breakfast at the Eagles Nest hotel.

Flights are Not included and can be puchased seperatley, see below.

Pilots on this course will be expected to have all their own equipment or hire it. Full details below.

Equipment

Equipment that is needed for these courses is as follows:

Helmet.........registered for airsports.
Harness.......with adequate back protection.
Wing...........suitable for the purpose.
Boots..........with suitable ankle protection.
Radio...........2 metre, with earphone if possible.

If you are on the Full EP+CP course then this equipment is provided, but if you are on the CP finishing or refresher course then you will be required to bring your own equipment. If you need to purchase some equipment then Welsh Airsports can supply anything that you might need or you can even hire any equipment, please call for details.

Accomodation

 All accomodation is provided on a bed and breakfast basis.
Transport Transport in a mini bus is offered free of charge to and from the airport with the rest of the group, as is recovery from the bottom of the hills and any other trip to see the surounding areas should the weather be unsuitable for flying.

The flight details above are with British Airways and are a suggestion only. Prices at time of writing this were between £45 to £90 per flight. There are other airlines, such as Air Moroc and Atlas Blue, that travel from the UK to Agadir but pick up and drop off times will coincide with these times. It may be possible to fly on different days and arrangements can be made for pick up and drop off but at your cost.

If you are having problems trying to book a flight it may be an idea to try and contact Tracey Andrade who is a travel agent who works closely with us and knows our itinerary etc.
Flights obtained through Tracey at the time of writing this article can be purchased to Agadir from Gatwick or Manchester. Other airports may be available, please talk to Tracey

If you are booking other flights or arranging your own transport you should be aiming to get to Agadir Airport, or there abouts, for around 8pm local time in order to catch the minibus to the hotel.

Transport to and from the airport is arranged for these times. Arriving or leaving at any other time may mean making your own arrangements. Please call for more details.
Insurance

Should the worst happen it is important that we all have repatriation insurance cover etc. Normal policies that you may already have may not include sports, or injuries sustained through these sports, such as Paragliding. There are companies that do and one of the better ones is mentioned below.

Purchase of Equipment We will be taking a lot of equipment down to Morocco for you and you will have the opportunity to fly various different types of gliders and harnesses during your course. And once you are happy, your new glider, harness, helmet and reserve can be waiting for you when you get home.
Partners Partners are welcome on this trip but although there is fair amount of time you could spend with your partner, we are in the middle of nowhere. The beach is only a stones throw away but if your partner is one who lovess the shops while on holiday they may be a little disapointed until we spend the day in Agadir.
