The early days in the sport are for every pilot in many ways the most
important. This is why we dedicated so much time to developing a new better
beginner glider incorporating all the paraglider design technology available
today.
The Gecko has passed the new stringent CEN
tests, the strictest level of certification currently in existence (23A,1B). |
Kiss
Low
End DHV 1-2 |
|
The Kiss is a secure step in to the intermediate class of
Paraglider. Aimed at recreational pilots who want maximum security
and comfort in the DHV 1-2 class, this glider is designed to
make soaring stress free and effortless.
An
ideal wing for pilots to gain their early cross country
experience on, or
experienced intermediate pilots who simply want stability
and peace of mind in their flights. |

High
End DHV 1-2 |
|
When designing the new Sport4 we started by asking Sport1,2,and 3 pilots what they needed most in the glider. Was it better glide or more speed or more safety or stability. By far what people appreciated in the Sport3 above all was the ‘easily accessible performance’. Already with the Sport3’s ‘auto thermalling’ handling we were on the right track.
This gave pilots the ability to get a good sink rate out of the glider without working too hard and we have further developed this idea on the Sport4. This idea of easily accessible performance with an emphasis on sink rate is what we have worked most on in the design of the Sport4. |
Mustang

DHV 2 |

Mustang - Designed for adventure
Airwave
wanted to design a glider that was long lasting, rugged,
yet lightweight. They also wanted very good glide performance
and an excellent
sink rate so as to be able to perform well enough to
fly out of inhospitable terrain. This is actually
a safety feature that is rarely discussed!
All this gives the Mustang the kind of agility that makes the wing a pure
pleasure to fly. |
Magic

DHV 2-3 |
|
On
21st dec 2005 paragliding history was made. The first true
3 line
paraglider was certified with the DHV. At Airwave
we have been working on three line gliders for 5 years ever
since Bruce achieved an impressive performance flying a three
liner in the PWC in Mexico in 2001, but it is really only in
the last 2 years that the three liners have began to dominate
the world competition scene.
Perhaps
the most significant date in the history of 3 liners was
October 2004 when 1st, 2nd and
3rd places at the European Championships in Greece all
went to 3 line gliders.

Magic
FR3
Load Tested |
|
Airwave's top of the range competition paraglider.
Airwave is at the cutting edge of competition glider design,
and the last 18 months have seen a huge step forward in paraglider
design making the FR2 is a radically different glider from
the original Magic FR.
It represents the culmination of hundreds
of hours of intensive flying and testing both in and outside
competitions. The development of competition gliders over the
last year has been huge and the FR is one of the very few of
the new generation of competition gliders that is available
for the general public to buy off the shelf. |
Burn
Load Tested |
|
Too
hot to fly straight on. The glider with the dynamic groove.
The Burn is a fantastic mixture between acro and freestyle glider. Despite the
small surface area this glider is also great for flying thermals... let it BURN,
baby! Dynamic SAT, Coconut, MC Twist, Tumbling - or simply flying thermals -
freestyling has never been as much fun! |
Slingshot
Load Tested
|
 |
The SLINGSHOT is Airwaves latest acro wing following on from the successful BURN, BURN Extreme acro wings.
This new acro wing is the most energetic and dynamic glider we have ever designed but still remains safe and stays open when other Acro gliders would be collapsing it is also the perfect step up from the BURN. |
Scenic

Tandem
DHV 1-2 |
|
Start with a great tandem and make it better.
The Scenic earned a good reputation amoungst professionals
as well as XC pilots. The idea behind the Scenic2 was to
take the Scenic and improve it, modernising the wing and
generally cleaning it up as well as making it lighter and
giving it a more modern look.
The Scenic 2 is even better than the original Scenic with all the new technology
that is built into the latest wings from the Airwave stable.
