| The
Welsh Hang Gliding Centre was established in 1975, and
is one
of the longest established schools in the UK (certainly in
Wales) hence we offer a high degree of experience and dedication.
The school
teaches Paragliding, Paramotoring and Hang Gliding, we also
run flying trips abroad, equipment sales and reserve parachute
re-packing.
We are also now a BMAA registered Paramotoring School as well
as being BHPA approved for paragliding and hang-gliding
tuition. Our training goes beyond the hills of South East
Wales to destinations like Spain, Austria, Italy, Hungary,
France, Morocco and even Nepal thanks to our sister company,
Skyhigh Global. |

Edi
Geczy - Owner - Instructor - PG PPG
Edi's
first flight was when he was 12 years old and knew that's
what he wanted to do for a living. After flying many
different aircraft ranging from different powered
aircraft from Cesnas to Chipmunks, done aerobatics in sailplanes
and is even becoming a Hang glider pilot, he started paragliding
in 1996 and a year later was very privaliged to get a position
with the military at the Joint Services Hang Gliding and
Paragliding Center as a
trainee
instructor.
2 years of training with the JSHPC gave him extremely high
standards in both training and safety which he now uses
to train civilians students through Welsh Airsports, which
has an excellent safety record.
He has
now been a Paragliding instructor for 10 years and a Paramotor
Instructor
for 5.
He is also
one
of only
a few
pilots
qualified
to Instruct Tandem Paramotoring. As
well as being in charge of the Paramotoring side of
things Edi also runs our flying
trips abroad.
Flying
to Edi is a 24hr a day occupation, and when not on the
hill teaching can be found planning the forthcoming Trans
Sahara Paramotoring expedition in 2008 as well as being
able to take up his long awaited hobby of Paragliding Acro
Flying.
Edi
is also on the Executive board of the BHPA and on the
commitee of the South East Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding
club as FLPA (Paramotoring) Officer.

Peter
Gallagher - Instructor - PG
Pete
joined the Welsh Airsports team in 2005 after an extensive
background in free fall parachuting and
retiring from the army. He qualified as a Club Pilot in Cyprus
in 2000 and trained as an instructor with the JSHPC, The
Joint Services Hang Gliding and Paragliding Center, in Crickhowell.
That doesn’t mean that he’ll
make you do push ups every time you make a mistake but
it does mean that he
has had the best training in the business to train you.
Since the start of his Paragliding career Pete has been
busy becoming a tandem pilot and running numerous holidays
in France and Cyprus. Pete is currently our France specialist
and is responsible for organising our trips to Annecy and
St Hilair this year in between looking after Welsh Airsports
while the others are away in the rest of the world.
Having
said that Pete is taking 2007 off while he has gone abroad
for the year doing other things. We wish hime well and look
forward to his return in 2008.
Currently abroad for the winter hopefully Peter will be back
with us ready for the 2008 season.

Tom
Garner - Trainee Instructor and I.T.
While waiting to into the RAF Tom started
flying with us just two years ago and made rapid progress through
the sylabus quickly showing his above average talent and natural
feel for flying. Without a driving licence he made his parents
drive him all the way from west Wales every flyable weekend just
to get the course passed.
He
worked double shifts at Sainsburys for over a year to get the
money to buy his glider and harness forsaking nights out with
his friends and holidays with this kind of drive and determination
we are proud to have him in our team.
Now having passed his pilot exam he is joining us as a Trainee Instructor and
helping us with our new web site
